A tropical birthday

Although summer is well and truly over here in the UK, I just HAD to try my new Blissful Blooms set from My Favorite Things for a birthday card. I went for a tropical colour theme but you could definitely change the colours for a completely different look.

MFT Happy Birthday flower card ECI tried out my ZIG’s again and loved how vibrant the colours turned out.

I’d never used solid die cuts before but managed to get the hang of them after cutting out all these flowers and leaves! If you’re careful, you can get a really accurate cut.

I cut out a circle for the shaker and placed the flowers round the edge to cover the shape. I wanted the yellow background paper (a Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka 6×6 sheet) to peek through. I filled the shaker with Pretty Pink Posh sparkling clear sequins, some micro beads and a pinch of chunky glitter.

Hope this card bought a little sunshine to your day!

Saying ‘I do’

I am fully consumed in all things wedding at the moment with less than a year to my very own ‘big day’!
We were invited to a wedding reception at the weekend and I wanted to create a simple card to celebrate their own Wedding Day as well as making a personalised gift for them.

Congrats wedding card ECI am loving my new scalloped die cuts from Lawn Fawn, they totally rock and come in a variety of sizes too. The second largest is the perfect size for a card base. I chose a polka dot 6×6 sheet of paper from the Lawn Fawn ‘hello sunshine’ petite paper pack for the background.

On the white background, I embossed the Neat and Tangled ‘Falling Hearts’ stamp twice using VersaMark and Ranger Bridal Embossing Tinsel. The shine on the hearts is magical!

The ‘congrats’ was cut using a Hero Arts die from silver glitter card.

I used a mixture of white and cream buttons and some tiny silver and pearl gems to create the heart which fit nicely in a wooden frame (excuse the bad photo!).
